Suicide rates increase dramatically as a result of Covid-19

According to the Samaritans organisation, suicide rates have increased dramatically during lockdown. Fears about job losses, losing family members and loneliness are among the biggest concerns. There is particular concern about the rise of anxiety amongst young people where it is reported there has been a dispropotionate impact with self-harm an suicidal thoughts being increasingly reported.
