Fernando Alonso will miss Thursday’s media day at the Japanese Grand Prix after the birth of his first child. The Aston Martin driver is travelling to Suzuka later than planned for personal family reasons but is expected to arrive in time for Friday’s on-track sessions. The team confirmed both mother and baby are well. Alonso, 44, has endured a difficult start to the Formula 1 season, with reliability problems and performance issues leaving Aston Martin struggling and without points after the opening two races of the campaign.
