Jonathan Edge, 29, was imprisoned for over three years for installing illegal streaming services on "firestick" devices after running advertisements on Facebook for payments made with cash in hand.

The judge cited the fact that he disregarded several warnings to cease this behaviour as an aggravating element in the sentence imposed. After entering a guilty plea to three charges under the Fraud Act, Edge, a resident of Liverpool, was placed under detention in jail at the end of October.  Today at Liverpool Crown Court, he received a sentence of three years and four months in prison. Additionally, he was given a two-year, three-month concurrent term for obtaining and viewing the information he was providing.

The Premier League is taking this seriously and will act against anyone attempting to illegally stream games in establishments such as restaurants, pubs, and retail stores.
