Man Who Stopped Bombing Awarded George Medal

In 2023, at St James’ Hospital in Leeds, Mohamed Farooq abandoned his plan bomb the hospital after patient, Nathan Newby, spent hours talking him down and gave him a hug before calling the police, leading to Farooq’s arrest.


Now, Newby is set to receive the George medal, an award for tremendous bravery, during a

ceremony at St James’ Palace in London.
