WBC (World Boxing Council) Featherweight boxers Skye Nicolson and Raven Chapman are set to compete in the first all-female Riyadh Season’s Crown Showdown in Saudi Arabia. The fight, which comes after the sport’s previous successes in the country, is against a continuous backdrop of criticism by human rights organisations, particularly around its treatment of women and the LGBTQ+ community.

‘This is a much-needed and big shot in the arm for women's boxing as it joins the Riyadh Season train which is moving to a greater destination for boxing.’ promoter Eddie Hearn said before the match. This is the first time he and other promoters have put forward a women's fight to the Saudi organisers.

This fight hopes to empower and raise the platform for female boxers as Nicolson aims to cement her place as one of the premier female featherweight figures.
