Tesla Unveils Optimus Robot to the Mass Public

Tesla's "We, Robot" event, which took place in Los Angeles in October 2024, highlighted the advancements of its humanoid robot, Optimus. The company showed how Optimus can carry out simple tasks such as walking and manipulating objects, intending to transform industries by automating tedious and hazardous jobs. Elon Musk stressed the robot's ability to change labour markets, yet significant technical and social hurdles remain. Elon Musk stated in an interview with Lifewire “Optimus robots will cost “$20,000” and be “available in 2026”.
