Nightclubs are experiencing a rapid decline, whilst 11.5 million people aged 16 and over in the UK hold a gym membership. This represents a significant 1.6 million increase from 2022, driven heavily by Gen Z, says a report by ukactive. But are Gen Z really ditching their nights out for running clubs? 

 

The Office for National Statistics states there were 10,048 deaths from alcohol-specific causes registered in 2022. 

 

So why is it so hard to put down the booze? I spoke to ex-students Forest Chisolm and Daniel Evans on how their views regarding alcohol were shaped by university.
