World Animal Protection has called on the UK Government to phase out horseracing because the animal is considered to be cruel.The sport has for many years become an issue of animal welfare and protection. So is it right that horses should be used for human entertainment and financial gain? Research shows that race horses suffer injuries and distress. They are whipped to enhance performance, tongue-ied for compliance and lashed for speed. All these actions therefore, place horses at risk of injury, collapsing from exhaustion or death.
